Advantages of TDI PVA Template and MxL Processes

Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3

The patented MxL technology introduces the concept that the template, after transferring or forming patterned material, is dissolved away rather than physically separated, thereby providing substantial advantages in nanomanufacturing, such as enabling yields and large area patterning capability, providing a solution to the fundamental problems associated with demolding in contact lithography. With the fabrication of the patented dissolvable templates using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), a low cost material yet with remarkable high resolution replication capability to 10 nm, and unique chemical properties possessing water dissolvability but insoluble in most solvents, the MxL processes utilizing transfer mechanisms of patterning with minimal residual layers become enabled to provide a state-of-the-art nanopatterning solution for nanoelectronics fabrication, and, as it is a biocompatible material, for advanced biomedical applications as well.
